Have you been struggling with your calligraphy?
If you're a struggling or budding calligraphy artist, I know how hard it can be to finish a letter, let alone make progress.
It's easy to spend all day scrolling through YouTube videos and Instagram feeds and wondering why you're not making any progress with your calligraphy. You may have even considered giving up on the whole thing, but that's just not an option!
Maybe you've tried different materials, but find yourself repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Or maybe you're just not sure where to start.
Either way, we've got some tips for you that'll help you get where you want to be as a calligrapher.
1. Don't waste a lot of time on YouTube:
The best way to learn is by doing it for real and getting feedback from others who are more experienced than you are. The best way to learn Arabic Calligraphy is by doing! Copy , trace the works of your favourite artist for learning purposes and you will find your own voice in practicing.
Everyone starts somewhere, so don't feel embarrassed if you're still trying to figure out the basics of calligraphy. The best thing about this art form is that it's easy to learn and even easier to master, so don't give up!

2. Don't waste time on social media:
it's mostly just noise! Instead of posting selfies every day or watching videos about your favourite artists, why not try practicing your own work? You'll be surprised at how much better your handwriting will become when you focus on what gets written down instead of how it looks in front of an audience.
3. Don't get discouraged if people don't like what they see right away:
this is part of learning how to create beautiful letters! So give yourself time before giving up on the project entirely, because it will come with practice and patience!
- Use a thicker pen for bigger letters
- Practice with both thick and thin pens (depending on what style you want to do)
- Don't be afraid to try something new!

4. Take breaks:
If you're spending too much time trying to perfect a letter and not enough time enjoying the rest of your life, take a break from calligraphy for a few hours each day—even if that means sitting at home by yourself instead of going out with friends.
5. Stay organized:
It's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the things that have been piled into your life since starting calligraphy: schoolwork, work projects, socializing with friends… the list goes on! To stay organized while practicing calligraphy, try keeping track of everything in one place so that it doesn't feel overwhelming when trying to focus on one thing at a time.
Decide how often you want to do calligraphy. Be realistic about it. Think you can write twice a day? Commit to once a day ( 20 minutes) and stick to it."
